Helenky Apartment Building, Považská Bystrica

For this 103-unit project, the developers relied on the acoustic and thermal performance of PORFIX.

A new apartment complex called Helenky has been built in Považská Bystrica—consisting of two buildings with underground parking. During construction, the investors faced the challenge of meeting strict thermal and, in particular, acoustic standards between neighboring apartments in a modern building. They found the solution in the comprehensive PORFIX building system.

They opted for a combination of proven aerated concrete products and newer sand-lime products. They were also convinced by the overall balance of price and material quality. They used the sand-lime PORFIX AKU for walls with demanding soundproofing requirements. Thanks to the properties of aerated concrete, construction proceeded faster and more easily, which the workers themselves appreciated. "The workers prefer working with it. It’s easier for them to carry, easier to work with, and easier to drill holes in,” says Július Kozák, the investor’s representative.

Electricians and plumbers were also satisfied with how easy it was to handle. “This material is really good for us, and we’ll definitely be using it in the future,” adds Mr. Kozák in conclusion.
